An Intimate Winter Wedding

Latisha & Ronald

O.Henry Hotel was never just a wedding venue in Latisha’s story.

Long before she walked down the aisle, it was a place for birthday celebrations, holiday traditions, nonprofit gatherings, and meaningful moments shared over the years. When the time came to write a new chapter with Ronald, the choice felt natural.

Their intimate winter wedding blended timeless elegance, deep faith, and the joy of creating new memories in a place already filled with cherished ones.

A Special Sunday | Love Story

Latisha and Ronald pose in the entry way.

Their story began in church. Latisha noticed Ronald the moment he walked through the doors one Sunday morning with his God Parents. Ronald noticed her too and made a point of introducing himself during the meet-and-greet.

The following Sunday, he forgot her name. Latisha jokingly warned him that if he came back the next week and still didn’t remember it, there would be no reason to keep talking. Ronald never forgot it again. For Latisha, it took only about a month of dating to know he was her person. “There was a peace and certainty that I couldn’t explain—it just felt right.”

A Thanksgiving Proposal

Their engagement unfolded much like their relationship itself: grounded in faith, family, and intention.

On Thanksgiving Day, surrounded by family, Latisha thought they were simply continuing their tradition of sharing what they were thankful for before dinner. Instead, Ronald began telling the story of the first time he saw her sitting in church. Moments later, he took her hand, got down on one knee, and proposed. Surrounded by cheers from family, Latisha happily said yes. “It was such a beautiful, unforgettable moment.”

A Place Already Filled With Memories

With years of memories already woven into the halls of Green Valley Grill and O.Henry Hotel, the choice felt natural.

It was the first place we thought of—and the only place we considered. It was the perfect way to continue our family traditions while starting a new chapter together.

After becoming engaged, the couple knew two things almost immediately—a shorter engagement and a wedding that felt intimate. Rather than following the expected spring or summer wedding path, they found themselves drawn toward winter.

Working with the O.Henry Events Team

The team was absolutely incredible.

From the very first meeting, I felt like a priority. Every detail was handled with care, and everything we envisioned came to life perfectly… I felt like a princess—not just on the wedding day, but from the very beginning of the process.

Wedding Vision | Timeless Elegance

Their vision was simple: a celebration that felt intimate, elegant, and timeless. Guests dressed in black, while touches of white and red roses brought contrast and romance to the room. The result was a warm, sophisticated atmosphere where every detail contributed to the classic feel they imagined from the beginning.

Two long banquet tables lined the Pavilion Room, elegantly decorated with white flowers and creating a natural aisle between them.

Preparing for a New Chapter

The wedding weekend felt less like checking into a venue and more like returning to a place woven into their lives. Tucked quietly inside the hotel on the eighth floor, the Magi Suite became one of Ronald and Latisha’s favorite parts of their experience.

Magi Suites in the O.Henry Hotel have two rooms. The large Living Area features a comfortable living room with generous seating, tiled half bath for guests, dining room table that seats up to four, stereo system with surround sound speakers; and a granite topped bar area with mini-fridge and microwave. The bedroom features a King Magi Bed with custom designed bedding to ensure a great night’s sleep.

Latisha had her hair and makeup done in a nearby guest room while Ronald and his groomsmen used the Magi Suite to get ready. Once they were finished, the suite was turned over to Latisha, giving her a private space to step into her gown and put the finishing touches on the day.

The Magic of the Magi Suite

When I walked in, I was completely speechless. The suite felt so private and peaceful, tucked away down the hall. It was spacious, beautifully designed, and just breathtaking.

The living area with the fireplace and view was stunning. The bedroom felt luxurious, and the all-white bathroom—with its oversized shower and standalone tub—was everything. There were mirrors everywhere, soft robes waiting for us, and even chocolate-covered strawberries in the refrigerator.

It was such a special experience and made the day feel even more magical.

A Wedding Day of Intimacy, Emotion, & Meaning

Latisha began the day with a reading of her favorite passage, Proverbs 3:5–6. The verse reflects the way they hope to build their marriage—with trust, surrender, and God at the center of every season. That spirit carried throughout the ceremony itself.

Pavilion Room Ceremony | Intimate by Design

Rather than separating the ceremony from the reception, the couple embraced the warmth and intimacy of keeping everyone together in the quiet elegance of the Pavilion Room.

Latisha walked down the aisle beside her father and immediately became overwhelmed with emotion as she saw her sons standing proudly in their suits and Ronald waiting for her with tears in his eyes. Ronald was equally emotional.

A Place to Gather, A Reason to Celebrate

When the ceremony ended, the room simply softened into celebration. The reception was an extension of the warmth guests had experienced all day. Guests gathered around elegant tables, shared a memorable meal, and celebrated well into the afternoon.

The Moments They’ll Always Remember

Some of the day’s most meaningful moments unfolded during the dances and heartfelt speeches that followed. Throughout the afternoon, moments of celebration blended naturally with moments of worship, gratitude, and reflection.

Moments of Meaning

Our dances—every single one of them. Our first dance, my dance with my dad, and Ron’s dance with his mom were all so special. Another unforgettable moment was worshiping together during the celebration. That meant everything to us.

Beginning a New Chapter in a Place Filled With History

For Latisha’s family, O.Henry Hotel had long been a place where meaningful moments were celebrated. It was already part of the fabric of their family story. Now it holds another cherished chapter—the beginning of forever.

A Special Note from the Johnsons

Now, a little over two months into marriage, we can truly say our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. It was absolutely incredible—but even more special is what’s happening now.

The bride and groom walk down the mirrored hallway. We’re building a beautiful life together, growing in love, faith, and purpose every single day. One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been blending our family—together, we now have five amazing sons together! It’s fun, crazy at times, it’s full, and it’s such a blessing.

And what makes it even more special is knowing that GVG and the O. Henry Hotel were part of the very beginning of this new chapter for us. It wasn’t just a venue—it was a place that already held so many memories for our family, and now it marks the start of our forever.

Marriage has already been an adventure, and we’re just getting started.
