Battle of Guilford Courthouse
The Revolutionary War battle took place on March 15, 1781, on land that is now part of Guilford College’s campus. The battle was fought between the American forces led by Nathanael Greene and the British forces led by Lord Charles Cornwallis. Learn More

Battle of New Garden
The Battle of New Garden was a series of Revolutionary War clashes that took place on the morning of 15 Mar. 1781 immediately preceding the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Though less known, this was important, causing British casualties, and delays, and adding to their fatigue. Learn More

- Snow Camp Historical Site
The Battle of Lindley’s Mill during the Revolutionary War took place near this site in Snow Camp, where several prominent figures were held prisoner in the original Quaker meeting house. The nearby cemetery contains the graves of some of Snow Camp’s first Quaker settlers and 25 unmarked graves of Revolutionary War soldiers. Learn More
- High Rock Ford
From February 28-March 12, 1781, General Nathanael Greene maintained headquarters here before meeting Cornwallis at Guilford Courthouse. Learn More

- Alamance Battleground
In 1771, an armed group of backcountry farmers calling themselves Regulators battled with royal governor William Tryon’s militia on land now preserved at Alamance Battleground State Historic Site. Learn More

The NC Historical Markers Program, established in 1935, is one of the oldest of its kind in the U.S., featuring over 1,600 markers statewide. 2025 Battle of Guilford Courthouse Reenactment
March 15-16, 2025
The Battle of Guilford Courthouse Reenactment will take place on March 15 and 16 at 2 pm each day at the “Battlefield” noted on the map below. Living history reenactors and vendors will be set up in the Sutlers’ Camp on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm for visitors to experience a bit of history, and purchase food and goods from that time period.
We are getting closer to the 250 year celebration of the American Revolution (2026). Come and enjoy the battle reenactment and learn more about the major role the Battle of Guilford Courthouse had in the American Revolution.
Parking for the event will be the Jaycee Parking parking lot located at 3802 Jaycee Park Drive. Shuttles will be available to the event site.
