What is the difference between O.Henry Hotel and proximity hotel?
O.Henry Hotel is a romantic boutique hotel with Old World Charm – a warm, friendly atmosphere with modern facilities with the Green Valley Grill adjacent to it.
What is the minimum number of rooms that would be considers a room block?
A group room block to us is 10 room nights. These can be across multiple days. For example, you can have 10 rooms for one night or 5 rooms for 2 nights.
How late can your Event last?
You can enjoy our event spaces until midnight.
What is Your guest to staff ratio?
We staff appropriately based on your needs for the event and your guest count. Your event will be fully serviced.
Is there a room rental cost associated with the private dining spaces?
Yes, the room rental takes care of the room set up and breakdown, full place settings, linens, candles, fresh floral centerpieces, tables, chairs and dedicated event staff. We take care of everything, you simply just have to show up.
Do you all require catering for the private event spaces?
Yes, the hotels each have a wonderful restaurant adjacent to them and the restaurants cater to our event spaces. We have a variety of menu options and will work with you and our Chef to customize the perfect menu for you.
Is there a price difference between O.Henry Hotel and Proximity Hotel?
The quality of services and price are comparable. The only difference is the atmosphere and feel of your event.
Can We split the cost of the event?
You are able to split the event bill between two individuals. We are unable to divide the charges further.
Is there a service charge or other fees?
We have a 22% service charge on food and beverage. NC State tax will be applied to all items.
What is the event deposit policy?
To hold the room a deposit of 100% of the room rental + 20% of the estimated food and beverage is required.
Is there a food and beverage minimum?
We do require our guests have food and beverage, there is no set minimum. We ask you to consider your vision for the event and the time frame that you are entertaining/hosting when selecting a menu.
Can we have the full restaurant menu in the private dining spaces?
There a several restaurant menu items that do not translate well in a catering setting. We want to provide the highest quality food and beverage, the catering menu has a wonderful selection of unique and delicious offerings. We can work with you and our chefs to come up with a menu that you are excited about.
CAN WE HAVE EACH OF OUR GUESTS PAY FOR THEIR OWN MEAL (SEPARATE CHECKS)?
Our restaurants are perfect for groups under 20 guests needing individual checks, the event spaces are not equipped to provide separate checks.
Can we have our event at O.Henry/Proximity, but have it catered by Print Works/Green Valley Grill?
Our menus are designed to reflect the flavors and style of the their restaurant and sister hotel in order for the kitchen to have plentiful ingredients and similar cooking methods and provide wonderful flavors.
What are the bar service options?
We offer several options.
- Full Host Bar – beer, wine and liquor
- Host Bar – beer and wine bar
- Cash Bar
The Full Host Bar and Host Bar are offered to guests at no expense to the planner and are charged based on consumption. We only charge for what your guests drink.
The Cash Bar has a bartender fee.
There are many ways to manage the bar and the costs associated with it. We can develop a plan together. Example: host bar during cocktail hour then switch to cash bar or provide drink tickets, etc.
Can we bring in outside catering?
We do not allow outside catering. We have two wonderful restaurants and events menus that have a wide selection of delicious culinary offerings from which to choose.
What is included with the spaces?
The room set up and breakdown, full place settings, linens, candles, fresh floral centerpieces, tables, chairs, dance floor and soft seating options.
What is O.henry hotel’s Standard meeting set up?
O.Henry Hotel event spaces will be neatly set up with carafes of chilled, filtered water, glasses, tri-fold note pads, pencils and hard candy.
Is there Audio Visual Equipment available?
We have a full inventory of Audio-Visual equipment available for rent and a talented team that are able to set it up and make sure it is in working order to your standards.
Can I bring in my own decorations?
Absolutely! Anything that doesn’t require putting holes in our walls or damage the space is welcome. There is a small fee for our team to assist in hanging any décor. We have relationships with vendors and can assist you with getting rented décor in.
Will your house florals match the color theme for our décor?
Our beautiful house flowers are designed to fit any event and last throughout the week – social or business.
We would be happy to customize the floral arrangements to blend with your décor. There is a small fee for this service from simply having a specific color to having specific types of flowers. Our florist is very creative and talented.
Can we have our wedding reception in the Social Lobby?
Our Social Lobby is a public space and available to all of the hotel and restaurant guests. To have a reception in the Social Lobby would take away an amenity from our hotel guests.
Can you have your ceremony at one hotel and reception at the other?
We learned with experience that it works best for everyone to keep both wedding events all at one hotel. You would hate for your guests to lose energy or momentum!
Can you have your rehearsal dinner and/or room block at one hotel and wedding at the other?
Absolutely! That is the beauty of how close our two hotels are. We can provide transportation complimentary to and from each hotel.

Can we bring in our own wedding cake?
Yes. We know it is often the centerpiece to any wedding reception and it needs to be personal and special. Our talented pastry team recognizes that they do not have the equipment, or time to devote to such a custom designed cake.
How many hours can you rent an event space at o.Henry Hotel?
Our event space rental costs are not hourly. This will depend on your vision and needs for the space, talk to a sales manager for more information.
Can we come and see the space before deciding on it?
Absolutely, it gives you the opportunity to visualize your event in the space. Contact the Sales Team to set up an appointment. We give tours from 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday and have some Saturday tour availability as well.

Do the restaurants have private dining areas we can make reservations for?
Green Valley Grill does not have a private dining area, but can accommodate groups up to 15 guests. To make a group reservation please call 336-854-2015.
